Beats

The term 'beats' refers to an instrumental backing composition, commonly used in hip-hop. However, I create beats in a wide number of genres to suit many styles of singers and songwriters. This means rather than continuing the same few chords, it could have song structure, with verses, choruses, bridges, etc. or it could be the same few chords, but with changes to keep it fresh and allow the composer to be more creative.

I've provided some examples of my beats here, and if you hear something you like, contact me and we can arrange for you to use it 'as is' or I can develop it into whatever you need.

Whether or not the track is customized, it is not 'work for hire', but a track you are licensed to use once paid for. That means it is not yours exlusively, you can't claim ownership or that you composed the backing tracks. However, you are free to use them for a reasonable amount of copies of your finished track. The beat websites have similar licensing arrangements which is fairly standard in the industry.
